Our Eye Doctors

Drs. Thomas, House, & Associates, Optometrists, PLLC was formed in 1991 to provide professional eye care to south Charlotte and surrounding areas. The founding doctors, Dr. Greg Thomas and Dr. Audrey House, relocated the practice to its current location in the Stonecrest area in 2008. The goal of our doctors and staff is to provide our patients and their families with the highest level of care and service available, allowing our patients to fully enjoy the gift of sight…Our windows to the world!

Meet our doctors:


C. Gregory Thomas, O.D.

Dr. Thomas was born and raised in Dublin, GA. Dr. Thomas graduated from Georgia Southern College with a B.S. in biology. He then went on to Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where he graduated in 1987. Dr. Thomas has been in practice with his wife, Dr. Audrey L. House, since 1988. Dr. Thomas is a member of the American Optometric Association, the North Carolina Optometric Society, and the Piedmont Optometric Society. Dr. Thomas is an Eagle Scout and a member of Weddington United Methodist Church. Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time outdoors and watching sports.

Audrey L. House, O.D.

Dr. House was born and raised in Scotland Neck, NC. Dr. House went to UNC- Chapel Hill and received a B.A. in Psychology. She then went on to Southern College of Optometry, where she graduated in 1987. Dr House began practicing in Charlotte in 1987. Dr. House is a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina Optometric Society, and the Piedmont Optometric Society. Dr. House is a member of Weddington United Methodist Church. Dr House and Dr. Thomas have 3 children - 1 daughter and 2 sons. Dr. House enjoys Carolina basketball, zumba, and reading.



To ensure the safety of our patients and their families, our staff and our doctors, and per the direct guidelines of the US. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the North Carolina State Board of Examiners in Optometry (NCBEO), our office is taking the temporary measure of postponing routine eyecare visits through April 5th, 2020.  This is a difficult decision to make, but we must do our part in helping to minimize the impact of this unprecedented worldwide occurrence.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding during this time.  Our goal is to return to normal as soon as the experts monitoring this pandemic feel that we can safely resume seeing patients without any risks.

In regard to any emergency problems that you may develop which you feel need immediate attention,  please do not hesitate to contact our doctors.  We will discuss with you what symptoms you may have to determine if this is something that needs to be seen in the office or not.  We advise you to not go to urgent care or the emergency room unless our doctors direct you to.  You may reach Dr. Thomas at (704) 517-7267 and Dr. House at (704) 582-1117.  If no answer, please leave a message and your call will be returned in a timely manner.

CONTACT LENS PATIENTS: If you are due for your annual exam or you are running low in supply with your current contact lens prescription, we will do our best to accommodate your needs.  Please call the office (704)841-3937 and leave a message with your name and best contact number, or e-mail us at  We will be checking for messages periodically and will follow up with you.  We ask for your patience due to some delays from our suppliers.
